Story
Casas Del Bosque Carmenere Rapel 2018 is a deep red with a garnet hue, a rich deep glass of wine with the aromas reminiscent of dark pungent fruits and an earthy undertone. Black cherries, stewed plums top off the fruity notes with dry leaves coming through too are complemented with sweeter notes of dark chocolate and spices with clove and vanilla being a notable presence! The vanilla being a nod to the French oak that the wine was aged in, giving it another layer of complexity to its aroma and palate.
To drink, this Carmenère Rapel from Casas del Bosque, is soft and plump and is well balanced with supple tannins and good length… delicious!
Perfect with food, yet maybe surprisingly due to its depth and richness, this wine goes extremely well with fish. Not so much your lighter, more delicate white fish but something like Salmon, a meatier white fish like White Sea Bass, or even Tuna Pasta, where this wine cuts through the richness brilliantly.
