Story
The Domaine La Plaigne Beaujolais-Villages 2017 is a crimson in colour with blackberry and cherry fruit aromas and flavours. Clean and crisp on the palate with excellent acidity and a refreshing finish. Perfectly served with Lyonnaise salad, prepared pork products, poultry, leg of lamb, or entrecote steak with Beaujolaise sauce.
Domaine de la Plaigne has been owned and run by Gilles and Cécile Roux since 1991, as the 5th generation to express their winemaking passions on the estate. Following the footsteps of their parents, Gilles and Cecile have, over the years, purchased additional parcels which now comprise 15 hectares across Beaujolais- Villages, Régnié, Moulin-a-Vent and Morgon. Now joined by their son, Victorien, they work mainly with Gamay, except for one small parcel of Chardonnay.
The Domaine de la Plaigne uses traditional cultivation, strictly monitoring the health of the vines, while respecting Nature and the quality of the harvest. Nothing is systematic, everything is reasoned, depending on the weather, the specific plot, and the health of the vines: the important thing is to anticipate. Likewise, we protect our vine stocks in order to obtain fine grapes, but we leave the grass growing between them so as to reduce the use of chemicals.
