Story
Tindall Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2018 are family owned and crafted in Marlborough, New Zealand. The region was put on the map in the late 1980s early 1990s with quality Sauvignon Blanc production. They are located on the Northern tip on the South Island with Blenheim as its capital. The 18-year-old vineyards are situated in Hammerichs Road, Rapaura. With the vineyard roots digging into alluvial deposits from the Wairau River. The region itself, almost single-handedly created this bone dry hugely aromatic tropical beast that is poured in most venues across the world. With this many options, what do you buy? For PTC we narrowed down the field by looking at vineyard management, wine quality and value for money. Tindall is a family-owned vineyard focusing on Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. They have a commitment to remain small producers using only grapes from their certified organic vineyard. This essentially means they rely a lot on nature to work its magic. There are no second labels, contract growers or corporate needs, just high-quality consistent wine. The wines are produced from fully certified organically grown grapes and showcase a pristine fruit profile. It’s got highly aromatic passionfruit, green pepper and cut grass. The palate is dry and scented throughout, with the same tropical tones as the aroma. Well-integrated natural acidity makes this wine fresh throughout and gives a crisp finish.
