Story
Gut Oggau Weinland Timotheus is a very expressive wine with an aromatic nose, with elderflower & a peppery Grüner aroma. Ripe, rounded & assertive, but super elegant, long & pure. Ageing effortlessly, many more years of life yet.
The Gut Oggau Weinland Timotheus is produced at the Gut Oggau estate in Burgenland by Lake Neusiedlersee. The estate is run by Eduard Tscheppe and his wife Stephanie Eselböck-Tscheppe. The couple produce some of the most sought after Austrian biodynamic wines. As many younger Austrian winemakers, Stephanie and Eduard focus on quality not quantity. They process the grapes as gently as possible, allowing them to make the best use of their vineyard’s strength. All their wines are vineyard-specific and express both the vine age and the character of these indigenous Austrian varieties. The grapes are hand-harvested. Maceration of skin & stems for 2 days before being pressed with the ancient wooden tree press. The wine is then aged in wood barrels.
“Mechtild’s and Betholdi’s son, Joschuari’s and Emmeram’s brother. He impresses people with his strong, powerful and balanced character. He stands with both feet firmly planted on the ground, but he is nonetheless open-minded and always looking for new challenges. He is regarded as self-confident, a man of substance and even refined. He is someone who due to his winning ways quickly makes friends anywhere”.
