Wish list
Last Updated: August 20th, 2021

Do you need help with picking the right bottle or case of wine to give this Christmas? We’ve created this list of amazing wines with fantastic stories to give as present this year: to your loved ones or to yourself!

From vegan wines and natural wines to low sugar wine and low histamine wine from all over the world, we got your back. All there is left to do is to enjoy the festive season ahead.

We have the best Malbec in the world – Gold Medal winner two years running!

Actually, it’s won a whole load more than just Double Gold! Silver Medal (Decanter World Wine Awards UK) 2015, Silver Medal (Japan Wine Challenge) 2015, Silver, IWSC (International Wine And Spirits Competition) 2018

The Viniterra Serie Malbec is a wine with an intense red ruby colour with a violet nose. It is a clean-cut wine with varietal aromas, which evidences the presence of mature red fruit, spices and marked notes of vanilla and coffee, resulting from its ageing in oak barrels. It has a persistent and balanced finish.

Still one of my favourite wines this year!!! The Gut Oggau Atanasius 2015! They’d look great in a stocking!

Recently featured in Jason Atherton’s website as some of the best wine out of Austria – these guys are really creating a scene in the natural wine world at the moment! This is the family of wines listed below – most of which we stock – you can purchase a mixed bottle (3bottle case) case of their wines through us or you can delve into their wonderful fictional story: The estate is run by Eduard Tscheppe and his wife Stephanie Eselböck-Tscheppe.

Stephanie and Eduard focus on quality as a permanent quest, their aim is to achieve a natural vine balance and process the grapes as gently as possible, allowing them to make the best use of their vineyard’s strength. All their wines are vineyard-specific and express both the vine age and the character of these indigenous Austrian varieties.

When they began to work with the wines in the cellar, they noticed that each wine seemed so alive with its own personality, that they decided to craft labels centred around the personality inside each bottle. Thus they created a family of Gut Oggau wines: each wine is given a name of one family member and the artist Jung von Matt draws a face for each label.

A Badenhorst Geelkapel Muscat de Frontignan is literally the perfect Christmas wish list wine!

Named after the ‘Geelkapel’ snake the venomous Cape Cobra, that can morph into a brilliant yellow after which this wine is named. From Adi Badenhorst’s latest vintage – Muscat de Frontignan and White Muskadel handpicked whole bunches is gently crushed by foot and naturally fermented for 2 weeks.

‘The 2017 Badenhorst Geelkapel Muscat comes from a single vineyard and is fermented on the skins for 10 days and finished in cask. It has a distinctive bouquet of lychee, orange zest, chamomile and, of course, a touch of Muscat. The palate is medium-bodied with a waxy texture, and a fine bead of acidity cuts through the waxy-textured yellow fruit, sour lemon, grapefruit and lemongrass. Not incredibly long, but very well defined and fresh. Drink now and over the next six to eight years.’ – Neal Martin Report 2018

Everyone loves a big bottle to open on Christmas day to impress their family and guests don’t they!? Here is a couple to get you started!

Possibly one of the most famous Montepulciano’s on the market at the moment – and well worth the price labelled, this wine just keeps on giving!!

The Salcheto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is named after the Salcheto stream that runs through this hilly, twenty-one-hectare property. Located in the heart of Montepulciano, Salcheto is dedicated to Sangiovese in the clonal guise of Prugnolo Gentile: the soul of Vino Nobile. Prugnolo Gentile differs from other Sangiovese clones in Tuscany in that it offers softer, more plum-like flavours than the usual black cherry. If we are allowed a sweeping generalisation, Prugnolo Gentile provides a mid-ground between the robustness of Brunello and the elegance of Chianti. These Salcheto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Magnums have plenty of dark fruit, a richness in the body and broad savoury, spicy notes, but with a great structure and length. Nice and tight on the finish. Pairs well with hefty red meat dishes.

This is a sensational bottle of wine, it will need a little time breathing, but once it’s ready you will never look back!! The perfect wish list wine!!

One of the best vintages in Bordeaux ever recorded, and one of the best Bordeaux houses we know to date!

Château Le Puy Emilien 2009 is a simple outrageous wine!!

The Château Le Puy Emilien 2009 Magnum is a bottle made for drinking after some time in the cellar! 09 was one of the most famous vintages in the region to date, and so this would be an incredible gift to anyone! Its nose is ripe and complex, which develops into fruit aromas of plum and raspberry of a beautiful freshness raised with fresh floral aromas. One hell of a wine!!
