Story
Wiston Estate Brut NV is a sparkling vintage used by Her Majesty The Queen to launch P&O’s Britannia cruise liner in 2015. The Goring family have been the custodians over the 6,000 acres Wiston Estate since 1745 but established the vineyard in 2006.
The Brut NV is a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in equal parts. The result? A refreshing, elegant blend that combines notes of crisp green apples and ripe lemons with richer, mature characters.
“I selected Wiston Estate to launch Britannia thanks to its impeccable quality and for its poise between modernity and tradition. Wiston stands for passion and pride as a technically masterful English sparkling wine producer since 2006 with heritage as a farming estate stretching back to 1743. But the main reason is that its bubbly is irresistibly delicious!” Olly Smith “The Wiston Estate and the Goring family have a lineage of managing these 6000 acres since 1743. In 2006, Pip Gorging realised her dream vineyard when 16 of those acres became dedicated to vines. With the help of winemaker Dermot Sugrue, (Flying English winemaker extraordinaire), they are creating some super sparklers.” Winerist.com May 2018
