Story
Rioja, a wine region in Spain that produces top quality wines and are limited to 5 grape varieties being grown in the region. Vina Palaciega Crianza Rioja is made from Tempranillo and Garnacha ( or grenache). This wine is a garnet-red colour with tawny huesaround the edged of the glass. It’s super fruity and packs a punch of jammy, stewed fruits with underlying notes of its barrel cask ageing, tones of vanilla and spice can also be noted on the palate. The resulting wine is Smooth yet robust with a sturdy flavour. It is well-structured with a lingering finish and quenched mouth.
Tempranillo is often referred to as the ‘noble’ grape of Spain with 87% of the worlds Tempranillo grapes being in Spain. It gets its name from the Spanish word ‘temprano’ meaning early as it is one of the first in the field to ripen.Grenache is one of the worlds most popular grapes for producing a full bodied, intense, flavour packed wine but needs hot, dry conditions to ripen, making Rioja perfect for growing some of the best grenache grapes in the world. These 2 grapes in combination create excellent wines.
Carefully selected grapes, de-stemmed and partially crushed, with a high proportion of full berries. 15 – 20 days maceration period with daily over pumping. Controlled fermentation at 24° – 28°C. Both native and selected yeasts are used.
Ideal to accompany all types of red meat, lamb and game. Perfect with cheese.
