A very unique brand and a gin-lovers must have within their collection! Romeo’s gin was created by leading Canadian entrepreneur Nicolas Duvernois in Montreal, Quebec.  He strongly believes that the region of Quebec possesses all the resources to create wonderful spirits from crystalline spring waters to endless cornfields.  The recipe for Romeo’s gin was conceived over a fortuitous lunch, where a cold soup made from cucumber, dill, lavender, almonds and lemon was served.  This provided the key to the freshness that Duvernois was looking for in a gin, he does admit that it’s odd to find a recipe for gin in a soup but firmly believes that sometimes it’s in the craziest ideas that we find the brightest answers. For Duvernois Romeo’s is more than a gin, it’s a cause and he has used it as a platform to showcase creativity.  It’s a spirit curated for the non-conformists, those who live life without boundaries and create something for the rest of us to think about, to democratise art and be heard.  Every limited edition bottle showcases selected artworks from various urban artists from Montreal and beyond.  A small percentage of the profits from the sale of each bottle goes to the Romeo’s Fund, a unique initiative which aims to establish authentic partnerships with the artists and their projects. Romeo’s gin aims to be reminiscent of the first days of Spring, with its unique aromatic signature-based around elegant juniper, mixed with the freshness of cucumber, almond, dill and lemon, alongside hints of lavender.  Best served over ice with a Mediterranean style tonic, some dill and a sprig of dried lavender to garnish.
