Story
René Jolly Blanc de Noirs Brut NV Champagne Magnums are quintessentially elegant. The spirit of Pinot Noir. Mature and balanced. With a gorgeously long finish.
René Jolly has been a family-owned business since 1737 in Landreville, Côte des Bar, Champagne. A full independent Champagne house dating from 1737 and is rooted in a long family history. They don’t buy any other grapes (or wines) than their own and they do not use any subcontractors. René Jolly look carefully after the vineyard and harvest ripe grapes.
René Jolly grow, press and use their own grapes only. They have 2 presses 4000 kgs Coquard. One traditional from 1972 and the second from 2001, fully automatic, unique in the area. All the grapes are fermented on-site and they do the malolactic fermentation for 100% of the wines in small vats only. As these exquisite champagnes are only made from homegrown grapes, they have to look after and maintain the vineyard in very good conditions throughout the whole year. They strictly do not use any chemical fertilizer. The leaves and the grapes are checked very often, twice a week during the season. The sustainability factor thrives here; they are seriously concerned by the nature surrounding their vineyards. They are now certified HVE which means High Value for the Environment. The generous and challenging climate with the hard limestone soil shape their wines. All grapes are hand-picked from their vineyards which cover a total area of 11 hectares. The house produces a maximum of 35,000 bottles a year.
“We separate each vineyard and each year in order to realise the most precise possible blend. 15 % goes in wood. We use local oak trees and we stop before it gets too obvious. Disgorgement is still done by hand with no ice. Traditional.”
These René Jolly Blanc de Noirs Brut Champagne Magnums are a masterpiece for any celebration, and are exceptionally well balanced!!
