Story
Pivnica Brhlovce Bonka Pet Nat has aromas of ripe peaches and citrus fruit, and a bight acidity, grapefruit, a hint of watermelon and fresh strawberries on the palate. Perfect and refreshing for a summer picnic!
Bonka is a field harvest from 40+ years old mixed variety vineyard. There is Pesecká Leánka (Feteasca Regala), Veltlínske Zelené (Gruner Veltliner), Chrupka Biela (Chasselas Blanc), Frankovka Modrá (Blaufrankisch). It is hard to tell what grape is more dominant and which less in Pivnica Brhlovce Bonka Pet Nat, as it is thoroughly mixed throughout the vineyard. Hand-harvested grapes, de-stemmed, crushed and let on skins 4 days. Then juice taken off the skins for initial fermentation in an oak barrel. When the level of alcohol and sugar is right (in the second half of fermentation), everything is bottled to finish the fermentation in bottles.
Pivinica Brhlovce is a small artisinal winery situated in Slovakia. The vineyard has deep volcanic subsoil, created long ago by the ancient and might Sitno volcano. Winemaker Ján Záborský founded Pivnica Brhlovce to create wines a more traditional artisan way that is part of the cultural history of Slovakia. Following intuition and experience, he ‘listens’ to the wine to find the right moment in which it is ready to be bottled. Refocusing on the moon, the stars, and nature, these natural elements are vital to producing wines with strong integrity and full of heart. Each bottle is hand painted, adding the the craft wine experience!
