Story
Pirie Sparkling Traditional Method NV is elegant and vibrant and is a pale straw colour. Aromas of crisp apples and citrus are balanced by bready and biscuity notes from lees ageing. Vibrant acidity adds drive to a full and rich mid-palate, gorgeous mousse, and a mineral finish. This sparkling makes the perfect start to any special occasion, serve with natural oysters for the perfect start to a meal or try it with richer fish like yellowfin tuna. This could also be enjoyed with a ripe brie and thinly sliced granny smith apple segments, what a deam!
Pirie is one of Tasmania’s great original producers of premium sparkling wine. Founded by a viticulturist who took a chance on the uncharted sparkling territory of their island, Pirie embodies all that world-class, cool-climate Tasmanian wine has to offer. Made in the traditional method with grapes from our Tamar Valley vineyard, Northern Tasmania is now widely recognised for the quality of sparkling wine produced in the true cool-climate of 41-42 degrees south.
Australia’s most awarded non-vintage sparkling wine, Pirie is the ‘brother brand’ of Tamar Ridge bearing somewhat of an elusive story: their vintages are few and far between, with their commitment to quality ensuring only the best sparkling wine is produced. For them, well that just means they’ve learned to covet scarcity.
