Story

Maison Montagnac Margaux de Monbrison 2014 is very fruity and agreeable, deep and elegant, with delicate red fruits aromas. Medium-bodied, soft and caressing, with pretty ripe fruit and a lovely balance of ripe tannins. Perfect for cozy winter nights by the fire and best served with with roast lamb, marinated venison, beef filet or the following cheeses; Brillat-savarin, pierre-robert, St-nectaire fermier; or a ven Raspberry Pie!

The domain of Monbrison, a wine-producing property of long standing, was created following an inheritance which separated its vines from the 3rd growth Château Desmirail in Margaux. It thus became the property of Mr. de Monbrison, who gave it his name before selling it to M. Chaix d’Est-Ange, a famous lawyer and president of the Imperial Senate, who turned the vineyard into a model estate. Monbrison’s vines are located on the highest point of the gravel outcrop in Arsac. Its size has doubled during the past ten years. Monbrison produces wines that are brilliant in quality, with tannins, finesse, and charm that all complement one another. It has received the highest honours in France as well as abroad, and in 1988 the wine won the Crus Bourgeois Cup ahead of 124 of its peers.
