Story
Nestling in the famous Gassac valley on the Terrasses du Larzac, and under new ownership since 2016, contemporary Château Capion has already produced an award-winning range that reveals and articulates provenance and purity, fixed in the character of its exceptional terroir. Indeed, consultant oenologist Claude Gros has called Capion ‘extraordinary white wine terroir’, while Andrew Jefford gave our 2016 estate red 94 Decanter points two months before it was bottled.
Ruby colour with a hint of purple. On the nose, aromas of fresh dark cherry, myrtle and spices (cardamom, black pepper). The palate confirms this – a vivid start, full bodied. Hints of Vanilla and Acacia continue into a long finish, giving depth. Enjoy with rack of lamb, hard cheeses or charcuterie. Le Chemin des Garennes is an introduction to what the Terrasses du Larzac can offer the wine enthusiast: freshness, fruits, spice – the expression of its terroir.
Enjoy with rack of lamb, hard cheeses or charcuterie.
