Story
Cà ed Balos Moscato D’asti is a wonderful straw yellow colour, sweet, pleasantly acidulous, with delicate and persistent aroma. The bouquet is intense with loads of fresh floral fruits such as peach, orange, elder and honey and musk flavour.
Cà ed Balos Moscato D’asti pairs perfectly with dry pastry, meringues, biscuits and cakes. It is also perfect as an aperitif or fruit cocktail with peaches, strawberries and melon or enjoyed as a light summer wine. It can also accompany soft cheeses pretty perfectly.
Cà ed Balos is a small family-owned winery with 6.5 hectares of vineyards in Castiglione Tinella in the Langhe, restored by Renata Bonacina and her husband in the 1990s, reviving Moscato d’Asti production there since 2008. The vines are farmed sustainably and are currently under organic conversion, long using ‘green manure’ to reduce further any need for chemicals and pesticides. In this way they limit the presence of parasites, reduce greenhouse gas effects capturing the carbon dioxide present in the air and protect the soil from erosion.
Grapes are carefully selected during numerous passages, picked by hand and whittled down further to obtain only the very healthiest for the finished wines. Renata and her team balance experimental technology with traditional methods, making properly brilliant Moscato d’Asti that cannot fail to put a smile on your face.
