Story
Agostino Inicio represents the road walked by the four Agostino siblings, who spent their childhood in Mendoza. There they gathered their best memories, close to their parents and their grandpa Sebastiano, who used to work in the vineyard. Since the early years in Mendoza, life led them along different roads, but the recollections of this land and the promise of coming back remained in their hearts. Coming back to fulfil a dream: to honour the family by leaving a heritage, Finca Agostino. Finca Agostino winery is located in Maipú – Mendoza. The vineyard estates located in Barrancas, Maipú and La Consulta, Uco Valley, both privileged and internationally recognized areas, provide the grapes that are exclusively used for the elaboration of the wines. Finca Agostino is the first winery in South America to obtain both IFS and BRC certifications for quality systems and food safety. These certifications constitute evidence of the winery’s compliance of the legislation on food safety and fulfil its firm goal of achieving excellence in the quality of the wines. The role of technology is essential for Finca Agostino as it allows the optimum characteristics offered by the vineyard to be maintained during the wine-making process. For the ageing of the wines, the winery counts on two climate-controlled cellars, one for the American and French oak barrels and the other for the wine’s evolution inside the bottle.
The 2016 Agostino Inicio Malbec presents a lively red colour with deep violet notes. On the nose it has fruity aromas, mostly blackberries and ripe plums, combined with secondary aromas of vanilla and toast. On the palate, it is a well-balanced wine, with soft, silky tannins and a pleasant length.
