Our Organic Summer Wines: Give Your Summer an Organic Twist!

The long, sunny August evenings just keep on coming so there’s plenty of opportunity for dining al fresco. We’re dishing up a few of our favourite summer meals, with three of our favourite organic summer wines, and these are bound to impress your friends and family.

The ultimate summer BBQ wine!

Most of us tend to go for the pale rosé or a crisp dry Sauvignon, but here at Pull The Cork we like to offer something a little different, we have such a large selection of natural wines – so it would be rude not too!

I would highly recommend trying one of our fabulous Organic viognier’s from Chile – on the price you literally cannot get much better, on quality, it’s just a stormer – and flavour, it’s loaded with delicate tropical fruits which just make your mouth water – which when having big juicy salads, and flavoursome meats is just what you want.

This is a fine example of the perfect BBQ wine – Emiliana Orgánico Adobe Viognier @ ONLY £10.50 per bottle!!

A night in with a loved one

Ok, so now we are talking a night in with a loved one, or a movie night with a friend, so you’ve pre-made the homemade ragu or the delicious truffle pasta – and you’re stuck for ideas on what to balance the flavours out with? For the rich ragu sauce, I would nearly always recommend something native – in this instance; Italian…probably a barbera, or a Barbaresco.

The Barbera Alessandrino, Valli Unite is that wine that you just need a few bottles of for this occasion, it has lovely fragrances of smoke and stone with a hint of ripe cherries. There is a great concentration of juicy fruit on the palate.

Fresh tannins and a lightly dry finish which help break down that rich sauce! There are no added sulphites in wine and it is also suitable for vegetarians & vegans and Certified Organic!!

In terms of a white for the rich creamy truffle pasta, I would go with the safe option of a wine that holds a good strong acidity like our DOCG La Raia Gavi, it really helps break down those rich flavours – which delivers a crisp, greengage and lime flavoured wine with an uplifting, slightly savoury finish.

If you’re a big fan of organic wine – like we are – then please make sure you head over to Battersea Park in London for the 8-9th September (luckily it’s a weekend) you can find tickets on sale here, and if you use the code Pull33, you will receive a 15% discount – we have a stand inside the marquee, so make sure you come and say hi!! We will be pouring lots of delicious certified Organic wines – and at only £4 a glass! But in case you cannot make it – have a look at our monthly wine subscription. We will deliver some of the best wines straight to your door.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend!
